Anita Goode has been part of the conception of Wangolina. She is now the owner, maker and grower. The grapes are sourced from the Wangolina vineyard, established in 1999, known for its commitment to alternative varieties and premium wine production. Graduating with an Oenology degree at Adelaide University in 2001, she went on to work consecutive vintages overseas and within Australia to broaden her knowledge, exposure and experience before returning to her home in Mt Benson.

Planted in 1999, the Syrah is one of the original plantings at Wangolina. Like most of Australia, 2023 was a particularly late & cool vintage, resulting in brighter red wines.

Handpicked grapes 50% of the fruit remained on stems, undertaking spontaneous fermented with gentle punch-downs. It was gently pressed into conditioned oak to rest for 11 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, and subtle hints of spice. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, featuring flavours of dark fruits, integrated tannins, and a lingering finish.

Pairing: Hearty dishes such as grilled meats, barbecued ribs, and aged cheeses. Blue cheese, cheddar, parmesan.
