The Tonelli Corrado farm can be credited with resurrecting the centuries-old recipe of Visner di Pergola, the wild sour cherry wine from the hills behind Pesaro, known in the local dialect as vino di visciola. This sweet, aromatic wine, based on the fruits of the Prunus cerasus tree that grows wildly in the hills of Marche, is produced in just three villages: Cagli, Cantiano and Pergola.
Tasting Notes: A highly aromatic wine with an intense ruby red colour, characterised by its typical fruity nose with a clear and unmistakable hint of sour cherry. It’s a delicately sweet wine, with a full-bodied and harmonious taste and a dry, pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
Pairing: Perfect as a digestif, but works amazingly with dark chocolate. This is my number one favourite for desserts. I like to have it slightly chilled.
Alcohol Content: 13.5%
