Our Wines
What makes Alessa Vino different from other wine stores?
At Alessa Vino, we specialise in curating small-batch, organic, and sustainably produced wines from France and Italy, many crafted by female winemakers. Every bottle is personally selected for its quality, story, and expression of place — wines with soul, made to be shared.
What regions do you specialise in?
Alessa Vino focuses on France and Italy, but we also feature a curated selection of Australian boutique wines.
Some of our favourite regions include:
- Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhône & Champagne (France)
- Piedmont, Tuscany, Sicily & Abruzzo (Italy)
- Tasmania, Yarra Valley & Margaret River (Australia)
Are your wines vegan-friendly?
Many of our wines are vegan and vegetarian-friendly, made without animal-derived fining agents. You can check this information on each product page, or ask us for a personalised recommendation.
Are your wines organic, natural, or preservative-free?
Most of our wines are certified organic, and many are also low-intervention, preservative-free, or made using sustainable vineyard practices. We focus on wines crafted with minimal additives, letting the fruit and terroir shine naturally.
You’ll find these details listed under the “Wine Details” section on each product page, and you can also use our handy filters on the left-hand side of the menu to explore. Need personalised recommendations? Get in touch at hello@alessavino.com.au — we’d love to help.
What does “low-intervention” or “natural wine” mean?
Low-intervention wines are crafted with minimal chemical inputs both in the vineyard and the winery. These wines often:
- Use wild, native yeasts
- Have little to no filtration
- Contain fewer preservatives
The result? Wines that taste alive, vibrant, and true to their origin.
Do you have rare or limited-edition wines?
Yes! We source small allocations from boutique producers, often only a few dozen bottles per release.

Wine Storage & Recommendations
How should I store my wines?
- Keep bottles lying on their side to protect the cork
- Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight
- Ideal temperature: 12–18°C
- Avoid extreme changes in temperature
For sparkling wines and whites, refrigerate 2–3 hours before serving.
Are Alessa Vino wines good for cellaring?
Some of our selections are ready to drink now, while others are cellar-worthy for 5–10+ years.
Check the wine description — we include cellaring recommendations when relevant.
What foods pair well with your wines?
We curate wines that shine with food:
- Sancerre & crisp whites → oysters, goat cheese, sushi
- Italian reds → pasta, pizza, charcuterie
- French Bordeaux blends → steak, lamb, duck
- Sparkling wines → caviar, seafood, celebrations
We can also help you create a wine-and-food pairing menu — perfect for dinner parties or special events.
