Lakes Folly Chardonnay 2022

One of the most popular Australian single-vineyard Chardonnays, Lakes Folly has become a cult classic and highly sought after, often selling out within weeks of release. Vines are grown on the flat southern edge of the estate on white loamy clay at an elevation of 50-100 metres. The fruit is hand-picked early in the morning and chilled before crushing & de-stemming. It is pressed and completes fermentation in new, one-year-old, and two-year-old French oak. The wine is lees stirred every week for six months before bottling, giving the wine its unique textural profile. 

Tasting Notes: On the nose, peach, pear juice and citrus, with hints of spice and dried oats. The palate is tight and fine, with the same fruits of peach and pear juice coming through, complemented by subtle, but perfectly-integrated, French oak.

Pairing: Pair this versatile wine with an array of dishes. When it comes to seafood, think seared scallops, grilled fish, or a classic prawn cocktail. A fabulous match with roast chicken, pork, and veal or creamy dishes like lobster bisque or mushroom risotto.
