Why we chose this wine
At the edge of Sardinia, where sea winds sweep over sun-soaked vines and myrtle bushes bloom wild, lies Sella & Mosca, a historic estate shaped by passion, precision, and the poetry of place. Founded over a century ago, it remains one of Italy’s great wine legacies, where tradition walks hand in hand with renewal.
Anemone is a reflection of that ethos: a rosato rooted in the land’s natural rhythm, but crafted with a forward gaze. The name evokes the sea flower that bends and breathes with the currents, just as this wine flows from a philosophy of deep respect for terroir and time.
The winemaking here is minimalist yet meticulous, gentle pressing, cool fermentation, and no excess intervention. The result is a rosé that carries the elegance of experience, made by hands that know when to guide and when to let go.
Soft coral in color, whispering of wild fruits and coastal herbs, Anemone is less about tasting notes and more about moments, salt on your lips, linen at your back, and Sardinian sun lingering in the glass.

Why we chose Anemone
Anemone has the ease we want from a Mediterranean rosato, but it is not anonymous. Cherry and violet give it personality, while its fresh, clean finish makes it immediately welcoming. It is the kind of bottle that moves naturally from aperitivo to lunch without asking too much of the occasion.
Rosato from Alghero
Sella & Mosca's estate lies just inland from Alghero on Sardinia's north-west coast. Here bright sun, sea air and native varieties shape wines with vivid fruit and a distinctly Mediterranean sense of freshness.
Anemone is an Alghero Rosato DOC made from a blend of native grapes. The vines are trained on spurred cordon and have an average age of about fifteen years, bringing both aromatic clarity and gentle texture to the finished wine.
Made to preserve freshness
The grapes are pressed quickly, then the juice is cold settled before fermenting at a controlled temperature in stainless steel. There is no malolactic fermentation, and the wine rests briefly in steel. This careful, cool approach protects its delicate colour and keeps the fruit and floral notes bright.
What it tastes like
Anemone is pale and delicate in colour, with fresh cherry and violet on the nose. The palate is lively, graceful and easy to drink, with soft red fruit and a clean finish rather than sweetness or weight.
How to serve it
Serve at 10-12°C in a medium white-wine or rosé glass. It is ideal as an aperitivo and equally good with grilled fish, light pasta, roast chicken or summer vegetables. Take it outside for a relaxed lunch or open it while the sun is still up.
