Why we chose this wine
Vej” in the local Parma dialect means “old” or “ancient”, as well as being the medieval name for the location where the winery stands. It is just that lost ancestral wisdom that Alberto has successfully chased and brought back to glory in this moving and infinitely complex, as well as remarkably age-worthy, natural orange wine. From an old South-facing vineyard of the typical aromatic grape Malvasia di Candia, it sees just grapes, love, masterful craft and no trickery such as selected yeasts, filtration, fining or added SO2. It is imbued with primal potency by a long 3 months maceration and then elevage in large wood.
