The winery’s name comes from a vast archaeological area of Manduria, a short distance from its renowned beaches, in which there are the remains of a very ancient city, Felline to be exact. Since the late 1990s Felline, in collaboration with other young and ambitious producers, has contributed to the enhancement of the area’s symbolic grape variety, primitivo. A project stimulated by a deep love for the territory and its traditions, which today places Felline among the most important wineries in the area.
Tasting Notes: Felline is known for its rich, fruity character with notes of cherry, blackberry, and plum, often described as full-bodied and smooth with ripe tannins.
Pairing: Felline is making it a great pairing for grilled meats or hearty dishes. Pasta with rich tomato sauces, aged cheeses, and charcuterie. In the restaurant I pair the Felline with our pasta and lamb rags, pasta with vodka sauce. Most of our meat cut like the sirloin, duck and beef flank. A good pecorino will be amazing too.
