Kone' Piceno Superiore DOC 2019

The wine is produced by the Vigneti Vallorani winery in the Piceno region of Italy, and its story is deeply rooted in family tradition, with a focus on preserving the local character of the land through organic farming and using indigenous grapes like Montepulciano and Sangiovese, creating a wine that represents the "preciousness" of their terroir, as the name "Konè" signifies in the local dialect. Characterised by a stronger presence of Montepulciano rather than Sangiovese, both grapes have been harvested from vineyards planted for over six decades. Aged sur lie for 18 months in smaller French oak, this body-filled wine showcases a balanced acidity with elegant tannins.

Tasting Notes: A notable flavour of Maraschino cherry with darker notes of fruit leather, rich chocolate, coffee and spices intense both on the nose and in the mouth. This wine showcases a bold, smoky profile with elegant tannins.

Pairing: Fresh pasta with a rich tomato sauce, lasagne or hard cheeses. A smoky barbecue meat, aged meat, or rich in flavour beef will be perfect.
