Awarded 93 points from James Halliday, this wine is full of flavour. BDX was the nickname in the winery given to one of their other wines, Rolling Stone but while Rolling Stone is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is a Malbec dominant blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot adds complexity and savouriness to balance out the fruity power of the Malbec.
Tasting Notes: On the nose are aromatics of red to black currant and mulberry fruits which combine with black olive, dusty cedar, tobacco and bay leaf notes. Medium bodied and quite classy the palate gives off a rich yet refined flavour of red and blackcurrants along with touches of mulberry fruit. This follows into smoky and earthy characters with a hint of spice.
Pairing: Cheese boards and rich red meats thrown on the BBQ.
Alcohol Content: 14%
